Outgoing Address
There can only be one Outgoing Address - this is the address that shows up in the From: field when you send a message. This is also usually the e-mail address you give to people or publish on business cards, professional pages, etc. You can choose from a predefined set of addresses derived from your name. If you wish to use FirstName.LastName@uvu.edu as one of your addresses, it must be set as the Outgoing Address using the UVU E-Mail Address Utility.

Incoming Address
You can have up to three Incoming Addresses - these addresses will show up in the To: field in messages you receive, and are the addresses others can use to send you e-mail.
  • Incoming Address 1 is always your UV ID @uvu.edu. This is also your account name. This address will be used by UVU to contact you no matter what other addresses you may choose. We recommend that you don't publish or provide this address to anyone, so spammers don't get ahold of it. This address cannot be changed or removed.
  • Incoming Address 2 is always the same as your Outgoing Address. It can only be changed by changing your Outgoing Address.
  • Incoming Address 3 is configurable. It cannot contain special characters, only letters and numbers. You can choose from a predefined set of addresses derived from your name. The predefined options available for Incoming Address 3 are also available for your Outgoing Address.

Predefined Options for E-Mail Addresses
The options available for your e-mail addresses are derived from your name. The following combinations are presented as options if they are not already in use:
  • (FirstName).(LastName)
  • (PreferredFirstName).(LastName)
  • (SixOfLastName)(TwoOfFirstName)
  • (SixOfLastName)(InitialOfFirstName)(InitialOfMiddleName)
  • (InitialOfFirstName)(LastName)
  • (InitialOfPreferredFirstName)(LastName)
  • (FirstName)(InitialOfLastName)
  • (PreferredFirstName)(InitialOfLastName)
